Larry's Barrow's design process seeks to blend the contradictions of science and art, the rational and intuitive, and machine and man in an effort to accomplish harmony between technology and nature in the making of architecture. He studied architecture at the University of Florida from 1974 to 1981 where he earned the Bachelor of Design and the Master of Arts in Architecture degrees. He did post-professional architectural studies at Harvard Design School between 1997 and 2001 where he earned the Masters of Design Studies and the Doctor of Design degrees. His design process is an accumulation of years of design education engaging theory and intellect and overlaid with years of practical application in the "making" of architecture. He implements an inclusive approach in his design process and envisions the effort of building and maintenance / weathering as an integral component of his holistic approach to conceptual ideation and design. He uses the latest technology tools for design-build (architecture) collaboration as well as technology strategies for architectural conceptualization, visualization and manufacturing (CADCAM). |
